.hack//G.U. Last Recode (hack G U Last Recode) is a collection of three Japanese RPGs, originally released on the PlayStation 2 between 2006-2007: hack // G.U. Volume 1 // Rebirth, .hack // G.U. Vol.2 // Reminisce and .hack // G.U. Vol.3 // Redemption. All three were developed by CyberConnect2, also responsible for working with the reissue. These RPGs allow the player to visit a virtual world in which he must perform sequential tasks and fight enemies in real time with a team of more than a dozen warriors. The developers improved the visual effects and changed the mechanics of the game process, eliminating most of the errors that the players complained about, for example, too high a level of difficulty, an uncomfortable inventory interface, the need for shredding and the appearance of short pauses after issuing orders. All improvements were also implemented in all issues submitted in the collection of Last Recode.

About This Game

​Games form a trilogy, so there is no need to know the stories described in previous releases of the series. The protagonist is a gamer named Haseo, whose friend was killed in the virtual world by a player known under the pseudonym Tri-Edge. As a result, she was in a coma in the real world. The player is instructed to take revenge, as well as to find out what caused the anomaly in the system, which causes dramatic consequences for anyone whose avatar dies in the virtual world. All three games in the release of PC / Windows .hack // G.U. Last Recode — classic Japanese RPG. During the game, the player needs to explore the world in the game, perform sequential assignments, and develop the character and his companions. The fight takes place in real time, but the action is suspended when the menu is opened, allowing the player to select these abilities, items and spells for use in the battle. In games, the world surrounding Hashio is not real — the protagonist can get out of his computer and, for example, check his mailbox and Internet forums.

Interestingly, unlike most remasters, the developers decided not only to update only the visual effects. Instead, Last Recode improves the mechanics of the gameplay and corrects errors that bothered players in the original versions of the trilogy. In addition, it is possible to repeat the battle if all the characters die in it. There is also a new Cheat Mode, in which the player begins his adventure with a maximum level of experience and the best equipment. Now the character moves much faster; Also the maximum number of items carried is increased to 90 for each character. The hardware interface now has a new option for sorting and selecting items that need to be used several times. In the remastered edition of the trilogy, battles now do not contain annoying pauses between the issuance of an order and its execution. The gameplay was rebalanced to limit grinding, while players can develop their characters much faster. Moreover, you can pause the game at any time.​
