Field of Glory 2 Swifter than Eagles — Hit your enemies with bow and spear as you lead your mighty chariots to glorious victory. Swifter than Eagles expands Field of Glory 2 volumes to the dawn of civilized warfare, covering the period from 2500 to 681 BC. The first civilizations in the Middle East arose in the Early Bronze Age, from 3500 to 2000 BC. The most important of these were the numerous Sumerian city-states and the ancient Egyptian kingdom, ruled by kings who were worshiped as living gods. The Middle Bronze Age, from 2000 to 1600 BC, saw a mass migration of peoples into the Middle East, leading to the emergence of new states such as the Mitanni, Hittites, Babylon, and Assyria. Northern Egypt was taken over by the Hyksos, who ruled as the 15th Dynasty.
Field of Glory II is a turn-based tactical game set during the Rise of Rome from 280 BC to 25 BC.

About This Game
Chariots were developed during this period as truly effective weapons on the battlefield. Around 1550 BC the Hyksos were expelled from Egypt, and the period of the New Kingdom began. Under the pharaohs of the New Kingdom, Egypt pursued a more aggressive foreign policy and created a foreign empire in Canaan and Syria. This put it in direct competition with other major international powers of the Late Bronze Age, 1600–1200. e., first the Mitanni, then the Hittites. Most of these great civilizations experienced a major crisis in the late 13th century BC; The Mycenaean and Hittite palace cultures fell, the Kassite Babylonian dynasty fell, the Egyptians left their Asian empire, Ugarit and other Amorite city-states were destroyed. The causes of this crisis are not fully understood, but probably included drought and famine. Another possible factor was the migration to the region of aggressive tribes, including mysterious sea peoples. After civilizations recovered from the collapse of the Late Bronze Age, the Middle East was dominated by the Neo-Assyrian Empire, which crushed all opposition with extreme brutality, eventually ruling almost all of the Fertile Crescent in the 7th century BC. Meanwhile, Egypt entered a long period of decline as it was conquered by a number of different foreign powers.
