Torn Away is an interactive story based on authentic children’s diaries from the war in Europe. Many of them became orphans, never finding their loved ones, and were forced to work hard in labor camps in order to have at least some opportunity to eat and survive the next day. The boundaries of their age were blurred, as each of them had to become old enough to endure the hardships of war alone. The main character is an ordinary girl named Asya, who lives in one of the European towns during the active German offensive. Habitual places have turned into ruins from bombings, and she doesn’t even know where her parents might be or whether.

She relies solely on the hope of one day meeting them and for this she tries to survive in a new cruel world. She became one of those unlucky people, because the Germans took her from her home country as cheap labor for the Third Reich. The captured Ostarbeiters were forced to work in inhumane conditions, so the protagonist decides to escape. Thorne Avenue combines a deep plot and elements of adventure stealth. The heroine will have to avoid dangers, hide from soldiers and take cover from bombs flying from the sky. Whether she will be able to get out of this hellish cauldron depends only on the player and his actions. Asya cannot be allowed to return to hard work, in conditions in which she will not survive, which means it is necessary to somehow leave the territory of Germany.
