Description

Cult Of The Abyss — is a survival horror sandbox about survival along with a dog companion, with Tower Defense elements, magic, crafting, gardening, endless locations and building a base, as well as protecting it at night. You find yourself in a ruined world ruled by a gloomy apocalyptic cult. In this fancy journey, you play the role of a boy named Quest, who is not alone and travels with his best friend Dippy — a dog. Both of you need to search for prey, explore and survive while you try to find your way home. You build your own shelters, defend and defend them, so as not to be captured by creepy creatures that prey on you at night.

Installation Guide

Step-by-step setup process

No installation is needed — this release is fully pre-installed and ready to play, so you can skip setup wizards and long updates entirely.
Extract the archive (RAR/ZIP) to a short, Latin-only path like C:\Games\GameName using WinRAR or 7-Zip — and never launch the game from inside the archive, as that is the top cause of launch failures.
Launch the game via Run Me!.bat (or the main .exe file) in the game folder. If nothing happens, right-click it and choose Run as administrator.

Having trouble launching the game?

Check these common causes before troubleshooting further.

Install the required runtimes if the game reports a missing DLL or fails to start: Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x86 and x64) and DirectX Runtime. If the release includes a Redist or _CommonRedist folder, check it first.
Check Windows Security quarantine if files are missing after extraction. Restore only files you trust, then add the game folder to exclusions if necessary.
Use a short Latin-only folder path, for example C:\Games\GameName. Avoid Cyrillic characters, very long paths and special symbols.
Run the game from its main executable after extraction. If nothing happens, try Run as administrator and check the full FAQ for the exact error message.
