Description

AI War 2 The Spire Rises — is a cool game that is a strategy with RTS elements in which you need to confront the powerful evil forces that came from the depths of space and decided to enslave or destroy everyone in their path. Give a worthy rebuff, gather an army and try to destroy the enemy, who has already managed to make a lot of noise in several galaxies. In addition to the new towers and ships that will become available after installing this add-on, two new factions will appear in the game.

NOTES. This release is standalone and includes all content from our previous releases and updates.

About This Game

AI War 2 — developed by Arcen Games, is a sci-fi RTS game and a full continuation of the studio’s 2009 debut project. AI War II takes the story 355 years after the events of the previous part. AI War 2sees the story 355 years after the events of the previous installment. In the game, the player takes command of an army of people, which during the past centuries has been preparing for a war against Artificial Intelligence. Upon the return of the AI, it quickly becomes apparent that the enemy is now much stronger than expected.

The AI faction immediately begins a complete war against every civilization inhabiting the galaxy. Among the factions targeted by artificial intelligence, people represent the least threat, so the enemy decides to rid them until all the rest are destroyed. In the end, however, people will have to face this powerful adversary. Until then, human military operatives should look for weaknesses in both AI strategy and defense, which will allow us to defeat this invader once and for all.

Key Features

  • The core of the gameplay is epic battles to capture the spire relics, and powerful ships and cities you get as a result.
  • Get some Really Big Weapons that scare the mess out of the AI.
  • Build entire spire cities of various complexities and styles, which upgrade as you build more cities and more structures.
  • The AI now has a reason and ability to bring back extra-galactic forces from their mysterious «main war» to fight you and the spire openly.
  • You have the freedom to push all the way to an alternative victory condition via this faction, or to just build up one or more cities and make use of the extra firepower.
  • Experience the fallen spire on a gradient scale, doing some of it as you wish, not having to choose «completely fallen spire» or «completely not fallen spire.»
  • Let us explore a bit more of the spire lore than we have in prior games.
  • Give players a chance to «smash the galaxy for fun and profit» by going for a mark 7 city, well above the mark 5 level that is needed for the alternative victory condition. At this point you’re just rubbing it in, but it feels so satisfying to be the big one for a change.

  1. CODEX
Update v2.018:Fix to a bug that was causing some-but-not-all savegames to fail to load in the previous version of the game. Mainly saves that were games started in 2.016 that were being loaded in 2.017. This was to do with fixing the AI reserves missing. Turns out those should not be added in mid-save. Now that no longer happens, but in the other cases where AI reserves were missing, it adds them properly. Thanks to Badger for reporting. Also added in a helpful method on the World_AIW2 singleton object which lets us just quickly write all the factions (invisible and otherwise) to the log.
  2. CODEX
Update v2.012:Fix a bug where allied nanocaust could be hostile for a second or two after loading a save gameThanks to GreatYng for the bug reportFix a bug where Marauder Outpost strength wasn\'t appearing in the galaxy mapThanks to Parch for reportingFix a bug where Spire Debris intended for a recently killed AI faction could cause a null referenceReported by Cadbury and AdmiralQuiet some dev-only debugging code visible in the Threat windowThanks to the crew of the USS Defiant for the reportFix a crash in the BuildingDronesInternally metal flow planning codeThanks to LCEnzo for reportingFix a bug where Dyson Spheres antagonized by hacking weren\'t actually doing anythingThanks to Ovalcircle for a nice bug report with a save gameAI Mines on a given planet now decloak once the AI command station on that planet is killedShould be a nice little QoL improvement. Suggested by a number of people, including corfe83Fixed centerpieces occasionally reporting being under self construction, thus breaking them entirely. Thanks to Lord of Nothing and Mayheim for reporting.Exogalactic Attacks are not eligible to come through the Exogalactic Wormhole from Wormhole Invasions until the first other ships have come through the wormhole. It\'s still very hard, but you can see it coming so there\'s less RNG.
  3. CODEX
Update v2.007:When hovering a tech line in the science sidebar, it now lists the ships lines to be upgraded first by mobile ships, then by turrets, instead of always in alphabetical orderIf remains cannot be rebuilt for some reason, it now shows the reason in the hovertext for those remains. This fixes a lot of ambiguity! It also includes the countdown timers for things that can\'t be rebuilt for a certain amount of time with/without enemies.Improved the priorities of repairs and other metal expenditures so that it makes more sense. Command stations with next to no health will now be prioritized extra for repairs even if there\'s a big ship to complain. In cases where there was a giant golem to expensively complain, it often would not let you even choose to override that and spend metal on repairing the command station. Now that works properly, and at least some engineers will break off to repair things even with a giant capturable there. Thanks to Smaug for a savegame where the command station was just impossible to repair while the unclaimed golem was still present. The \'cancel hack\' popup now reminds the player that you still pay the full hacking points valueBugfixesRemove a debugging line related to Dyson Spheres that was left enabled by accidentThanks to a number of people for reportingMake it much harder for structures to start to rebuild themselves mid battle. Thanks to Ubifan for reportingFix a very long-standing bug where the Threat Count in the resource bar was sometimes counting Warden or Praetorian unitsFixed Fleet Centerpieces vanishing from the galaxy map if they were crippled, then moved to a planet that was only Explored.
