How to Mount ISO Files with UltraISO

An ISO file is a disc image. Many game releases still ship in this format.

Windows 10 / 11: no extra software needed

  1. Right-click the .iso file.
  2. Choose Mount.
  3. Windows creates a virtual DVD drive with the image contents — open it in This PC and run the setup.
  4. When done, right-click the virtual drive → Eject.

Windows 7: use UltraISO

Windows 7 has no built-in mounting, so install UltraISO from the official ultraiso.com website.

  1. Install and run UltraISO.
  2. Open the ISO file inside the program (File → Open).
  3. Choose Tools → Mount to Virtual Drive (or press F6).
  4. The image appears as a virtual drive — install the game from it.

UltraISO also converts between image formats (BIN, NRG, CDI, MDF) if you ever need that.
