STRAY GIRL begins when a technician finds a malfunctioning android and begins to reactivate her. The game focuses on systematic training to reconstruct her erased memories and build an understanding of the world from scratch. Through guided interactions with objects and unconventional lessons, the android gradually gains knowledge and skills. This development through special learning methods opens access to explicit visual rewards that symbolize the stages of her awakening.

The plot in STRAY GIRL is further developed with the arrival of a scientist connected to the android’s past, who reveals a secret backstory. This connects the robot girl to corporate objectives that go beyond simple restoration, as her former owners persistently seek to reclaim their highly valuable resource. The gamer is then faced with an important choice: defend her freedom and the formation of her personality, or hand her over to the corporation.
