Rune Factory 5 is a JRPG and farming simulator in one. Judging by the annual report of its developers, as of the end of March 2022, more than 500,000 copies of the game were sold worldwide. The release of Rune Factory 5 was split into several dates. It first came out in May 2021 in Japan, and the project reached the US and Europe in March 2022. How many times a fifth was bought outside of Japan is unknown. But according to Famitsu, Japan had at least 127,968 copies on physical media.
About This Game
In Rune Factory 5, the player is immersed in a world where the balance between nature and humanity is supported by runes. However, the balance is threatened, so the locals organize squads to stop the spread of chaos. In between battles, the protagonist is free to fish, participate in festivals, make friends and help in the field. For the latter, monsters are useful, which can be tamed and harnessed to plow the land.
