Rune Factory 3 Special is a remastered version of Rune Factory 3 A Fantasy Harvest Moon released in 2009 with new content. Developed by Marvelous, the game belongs to a series of farming RPGs that are more focused on action than typical entries in the genre. Rune Factory 3 Special takes us on a journey into a fantasy world engulfed in conflict between humans and monsters. The protagonist of the game is a young man named Micah, who has the ability to turn into a golden, sheep-like monster woolly. The protagonist gets into an accident, he is saved by a young woman, after which he finds himself in the provincial town of Charance.

Waking up, our hero discovers that he has lost his memory, and soon finds himself embroiled in a war that has been going on for many years. Wanting to unravel the mystery of his past, Micah must try to restore peace to the whole earth. In Rune Factory 3 Special, the action takes place from top to bottom. We travel the world, get to know its inhabitants and establish relationships with them, as well as perform various tasks for them. However, being in a country engulfed in war is not an idyll, so there is no shortage of opportunities to make war. On the battlefield, Micah not only uses white weapons and magic, but also transforms into a monster, allowing him to use attacks that are inaccessible to him as a human. In addition, as our protege develops, he can recruit both people and monsters, as well as call allies to battle.

Between grandiose adventures, we find ourselves on our farm, which serves as our base of operations. In addition to farming, we can spend time fishing and flirting with girls. Having found our soul mate, we should communicate with her in various ways as often as possible; only in this way will we be able to make her fall in love with us and conclude a marriage with her, the fruit of which over time can become a bunch of children. Compared to the original, Rune Factory 3 Special stands out with a thoroughly updated graphics. The authors took on both three-dimensional character models and two-dimensional backgrounds. All this was done in a colorful, cartoon style.
