Utawarerumono ZAN 2 is a fast-paced musou action game where large-scale battles serve as the foundation for the epic conclusion of the saga. Eliminating hordes of enemies requires the player to skillfully combine techniques and timely use of equipment that modifies the properties of their attacks. The implemented "Skill Board" mechanic allows for fine-tuning the talents of fighters, turning them into indestructible engines of destruction. The strategic genius has at his disposal an impressive roster of over twenty unique characters, each with their own style of warfare. Fifty story missions are accompanied by spectacular 3D animations, previously unavailable in the series, providing a deeply immersive experience.

Respites between battles take place at the Oshtora Estate, located in the lands of Ennakamuy. This location functions as a fully-fledged base that can be upgraded using points earned during raids. Interacting with your allies not only reveals new aspects of the narrative but also strengthens your squad's stats for the challenges ahead. Utawarerumono ZAN 2 itself adapts the dramatic events of the Mask of Truth arc, offering an alternative take on the story's finale through exclusive scenarios. For those seeking the ultimate challenge, the "Dream Arena" mode offers online cooperative play with friends to obliterate opponents.
