Maybe it's because these games are made by tiny teams, sometimes just one person, working late nights to bring an idea to life. No one looking over their shoulder, no marketing department telling them what to do. Just a vision and the stubborn belief that their game deserves to exist.
And most of the time, they're right. Indie developers can't just throw money at problems, so they get creative instead. A small budget means you come up with a distinctive art style instead of chasing realism. A tiny team means every feature has to earn its place nothing wasted, nothing pointless. What comes out the other end feels tight, personal, and surprising in ways that huge productions rarely manage.
The proof is right there in the games. Hollow Knight — three people, one of the finest adventures ever made. Stardew Valley — one guy, alone, for years, built a farming game that outsold nearly everything. Celeste, Hades, Undertale, Terraria, Disco Elysium not a single one came from a massive team in a corporate office. They came from people who had something to say and found the perfect way to say it.

Rise of the Slime — is a card bagel in which you play for slime, which only at first glance looks harmless and weak. You will find nice animation and graphics. Explore the world, fight monsters, pump over the hero, look for valuable objects and touch what you shouldn’t touch. In general, the game is not much different from many similar indie projects, but is still able to hook for a long time. Although it looks generally similar to Slay the Spire, Rise of the Slime has several ideas of its own, including random obstacles in real time, evasion, and some positional elements in tactical turn-based combat. Objects can be dropped on enemies, some floor tiles can become dangerous, and some spells have limited areas of effect.

The Hell Hives — classic FPS game in the style of the 90 with modern graphics. Less video is more of a game. Make your way through a series of very challenging levels in a variety of environments. Fight many different enemies with a shotgun, assault rifle, grenade launcher and tactical nuclear grenade launcher with caution. Solve puzzles, go through mazes, compete with the rising lava, decipher the codes, find and activate the source portal to go to the next level. At the moment the game is relatively short, currently it consists of 5 large very difficult levels. I’m aware of a minor bug, and in the coming months I’ll be working on a series of free updates, including Survival Mode.
