Early Access lets you play games while they're still being built. Instead of waiting for the finished product, you jump in early, experience the core gameplay, and watch the game grow and improve over time. Developers release regular updates based on player feedback, adding new content, fixing bugs, and tweaking mechanics. Your voice actually matters here because the suggestions you leave and the bugs you report can directly shape what the game becomes before it reaches a final release.
It's not for everyone, and that's okay. Early Access games are works in progress. Some are rough around the edges. Some have missing features that haven't been implemented yet. A few will change dramatically from their original vision as development progresses. But the tradeoff is real: you get to experience something before anyone else, and you get to be part of its journey. Some of the biggest success stories in PC gaming started right here. Baldur's Gate 3, Hades, Subnautica, Rust, Valheim, and Deep Rock Galactic all spent time in Early Access and came out stronger for it on the other side.

In general, the game is not much different from many similar indie projects, but is still able to hook for a long time. Although it looks generally similar to Slay the Spire, Rise of the Slime has several ideas of its own, including random obstacles in real time, evasion, and some positional elements in tactical turn-based combat. Objects can be dropped on enemies, some floor tiles can become dangerous, and some spells have limited areas of effect.
