Near-Mage v1.1.4 (upd.25.06.2025)

Near-Mage is a narrative-driven adventure game combining traditional point-and-click mechanics with RPG elements, developed by Transylvanian studio Stuck In Attic. You play as Illy Vraj, a teenager who discovers his witch heritage when he is invited to Transylvania by his mysterious Aunt Domnica to enroll in the Transylvanian Institute of Magic as a preparatory course.

The game centers on spell-crafting mechanics, where you attend various magic classes and build up your own inventory of spells, with each spell choice having different effects on NPC interactions and story events over multiple playthroughs. Set in three main locations — the real-life city of Sighisoara, the hidden magical city of Rakus, and the Institute itself — the game’s world draws heavily from authentic Transylvanian folklore, with vampires, prickly pranksters, moroi, strigoi, and other supernatural creatures.

The hand-drawn 4K visuals are traditionally animated frame by frame, and character customization includes dozens of outfits and hairstyles for Illy. Players can choose between point-and-click controls and direct character movement, including walking, running, or flying to targets. The spell crafting system allows for a great deal of freedom — you can take lessons on the fly or strategically plan your magical development with in-game spellbooks, resulting in varied quest outcomes and high replay value.
