About The Game

Soulfall hack and slash RPG that empowers players to wield fallen souls as weapons in a grimdark fantasy realm of endless combat and character growth. The plot follows Elara Voss, a cursed soulbinder exiled from her order after absorbing a forbidden essence that grants her the power to harvest enemy spirits and forge them into spectral blades. Hunted by the Soulwardens who seek to purge her abomination, Elara traverses a war ravaged continent, allying with outcast mercenaries and unraveling a conspiracy where the gods themselves are harvesting mortal souls to fuel an apocalyptic ritual. What starts as a personal vendetta against her former mentors escalates into a desperate bid to shatter the divine soul forge before it consumes all existence.

The game offers over 80 soul types to collect and combine, from fiery wraith essences that ignite chain combos to shadowy phantom shards for stealthy backstabs, each modifiable through a deep upgrade system that alters damage types, range, and special effects like soul drain for health regen. Players can equip dual wield setups or hybrid builds blending melee fury with ranged soul projectiles, scavenging fragments from boss remnants or crafting in hidden forges using rare alchemical reagents. The massive open world is segmented into seven biomes, from the ash choked volcanic badlands for lava surfing dashes to the mist shrouded soul marshes where visibility limits force audio cues for enemy ambushes. Each zone hides environmental hazards like crumbling ledges that trigger falling rock traps or spectral fog that corrupts soul weapons if not purified.

Gamers can extensively customize their arsenal, looting battlefield echoes for essence enhancers or bartering with nomadic necromancers for legendary soul cores that unlock ultimate forms like a storm of vengeful spirits. Before each incursion, tweak your loadout to match the biome, opting for frost resistant souls in icy tundras or poison immune variants in toxic swamps. Biomes vary in landscape, enabling brutal arena brawls in coliseum ruins, vertical platforming in towering soul spires, or underwater skirmishes in flooded crypts. Multiplayer supports up to 4 players in co op soul hunts, where teams share harvested essences for fused super weapons, or versus modes for gladiatorial soul duels. This mode unlocks cosmetic aura effects and accelerated soul mastery through collaborative carnage.

How to Install

1. The first thing we do is download the game files.
2. Unzip the archive to the hard disk. (how to unzip .rar)
3. Wait for the unpacking process to finish.
4. Start the game «Soulfall.exe» from game folder.
5. The language changes in the menu.

    I added an additional boss to the demo slice, making the demo version of the first Act 8 minutes, with 4 demi-bosses
    Enemy ability effects, including better visualizations for area of effect attacks to make dodging more predictable
    Buffing ability damage and reducing cooldown times
    Post-game "damage dealt" screen to show how much damage you did with each damage source to better understand what made your build successful
    Completing quest events now award Marks of Honor, which are now yellow glowing symbols that can be picked up from the ground
    Reworked the enemy AI to improve performance especially with regards to massive groups of enemies (this is more noticable at later stages of each Act, and may not be as noticeable within the first 8 minutes)
    Armor and weapon frames are now stackable, essentially every item in the game is now stackable other than actual weapon or armor pieces, this was done to reduce frustration from inventory clutter
    There are probably a lot more that I'm forgetting, a lot of these are carry-over changes/fixes from my work on the additional 3 Acts
    Early Access Launch
    I want everyone to be completely aware of what this game will contain, so I have updated the early access disclosure information on the main store page to comprehensively outline what is expected of the EA launch, and subsequently the 1.0 launch. I will cover most of that here as well
    The game will have 4 Acts, each featuring its own unique biome, environment obstacles, unique enemy types, demi-bosses (each with their own unique abilities), quests, loot, and a final boss
    The duration of each Act will be 20 minutes long, with the exception of Act 4 which is a "race against the clock" mode where 20 minutes is the time cap to reach the end
    There will be 3 base classes, with each class having 3 class specializations, offering different playstyles, different ultimate abilities, and different talent trees
    Each Act has a narrative-drive quest line which is optional, but when completed greatly helps with the difficulty of the final boss fight for each Act
    There are 5 tiers of increasingly rare, powerful, and valuable loot in the form of weapons and armor. Early common items don't help much outside of a bit of extra damage and armor, but higher equipment rarities will give you permanent trait buffs such as increased critical strike chance, or increased base health, allowing for even more build customization

  2. Fixing some of the more common/critical bugs that have been reported so far:
    - Inferno mode final boss not spawning is now fixed
    - Rubies can now be crafted into crushed rubies, allowing for potions to be crafted
    - Crafting amulets now gives the actual item
    - Act 2 Flamemaiden boss now only awards steam achievement after she is killed
    - Certain shrines would cause dash cooldowns to "lock" which prevented dashing afterwards, this is now fixed
    - Auto-attacking no longer gets randomly paused/stops working
    - I am Experimenting with a fix for the forge not being able to be exited after crafting/salvaging, if this issue persists after you update please let me know
