A letter arrives from a widow named Mildred Bartgis, who lives alone in the countryside. She believes her house became haunted after her divorce, blaming an entity called Schnabelperchten that grows angry whenever her home is not clean enough. Whether this is genuine horror or a mind worn down by grief is the question you must answer. NightGhast, an adventure horror puzzle game, is the work of Playstige Interactive, which developed and published the title.

Investigation plays out in first person as you search the house and its surroundings for clues. Evidence of paranormal events gathers piece by piece, and simple puzzles are solved with your inventory and equipment, rewarding careful observation over trial and error. Cinematic cut scenes unfold the story as the night deepens and the truth behind the haunting slowly surfaces from the shadows of the old house.

The house is not empty. AI monsters patrol the rooms and chase you the moment they sense your presence, and since you cannot fight them, hiding and careful movement are your only tools for survival. A dedicated running key lets you sprint when danger spikes, though the developers recommend walking so you catch every detail of the background story. The interplay between slow exploration and sudden flight gives the game its tense rhythm.

Built on Unreal Engine 5, the project supports 4K resolution with ray tracing on capable video cards, making every corridor dense with atmosphere. The adventure is deliberately short and can be finished in under two hours, which fits players seeking one focused horror story in a single evening. Re-bindable keys and a clear objective structure keep the experience accessible from the first minute to the final reveal.
