Shadows Awakening is an adventure isometric role-playing game with a tactical combat system in real time and a single campaign. Players are waiting for the demon’s story, which absorbs the souls of the dead heroes, due to which it becomes stronger. In the role of this demon, players must go through the fantasy world, changing it as they please. The developers themselves describe Shadows: Awakening as «a unique isometric RPG with a single campaign and real-time battles.» Players will take on the role of «a demon who was called from the realm of shadows known as Devourer to absorb the souls of long-dead heroes and go on an epic adventure with challenging gameplay, fascinating plot and mesmerizing graphics.» The key features of the game are switching between the realm of shadows and the world of mortals, a unique party system where several characters combine, interact and feud in one demon, as well as a wide range of abilities and characters.

Shadows Awakening — the next part in the series of RPG called Heretic Kingdoms, which began in 2004 with the game Heretic Kingdoms: The Incquisition. Awakening is a full edition of Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms, the first chapter of which was published in 2014, and the second was to appear later as a free, but not autonomous DLC. After bitcompositional games company responsible for publishing the original version — filed for bankruptcy, the rights to the game were acquired by Kalypso Media. The developers of the original version — Games Farm — were commissioned to work on the release of Awakening. It’s interesting that the new publisher kept the promise of the former to release the game to everyone who owns the original copy of the game, as a free update downloaded from GOG and Steam, so it’s quite possible to download the game through the torrent. In addition to the PC version, Shadows Awakening will be available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
