Island Notes begins after a yacht accident leaves the player and guests stranded on an uncharted island. The initial choice is to prioritize saving yourself or helping the group. Key activities include setting up a base, farming, and fishing. This project also focuses on forming close bonds with other survivors that can develop into romantic partnerships. Here, interpersonal dramas are as important to overcome as the challenges presented by nature.

Island Notes takes place on a vast open map with caves, abandoned buildings, and cliffs. Due to the high density of vegetation, almost every element of the environment is available for collection. The location in this game is populated by intelligent companions who independently perform actions such as eating, cooking, mining, and fighting. These companions dynamically change their behavior depending on the character's state, showing care and engaging in emotional contacts. Increasing the level of affection for voiced allies unlocks access to additional costumes.
