This institution has existed since the 19th century and was one of the most famous of its kind on the Italian peninsula the number of its patients reached several thousand, but it was closed in 1978 along with many other institutions in Italy when the Law changed. The creators of The Town of Light for PC, PS4 and more decided to present the history of this place with a special emphasis on the dramatic experiences of its inhabitants, who for years treated the staff of the institution like animals.
