Umami Grove is a VR project based on the active movement of the player in space. Gamers move around unique locations, jumping over chasms, climbing ledges, crouching under obstacles and using swing points. The key task is to meet various creatures living in these worlds and provide them with the required assistance. This assistance is necessary for further progress, creating challenges associated with navigation through the body.

In Umami Grove, the central gameplay mechanics require obtaining certain components for recipes. Exploring levels is required to find and pick up the necessary items, often hidden or located in places where the ability to overcome obstacles is required. Having collected the components, the user begins to cook culinary masterpieces - this activity requires direct interaction in the virtual environment. It is necessary to work with virtual tools and products to step-by-step create dishes according to the instructions.

This sequence moves the story forward: the gamer explores the area, obtains resources, and then uses them in cooking. Successfully completing cooking tasks allows you to fulfill the goals of the characters the player is helping, which opens up access to new areas or recipes. The title translates human physical movements such as extending an arm, grabbing objects, and other gestures into corresponding avatar actions for navigation and interaction.
