In Rana Card, a farm manager must fulfill production targets set by the TimeTech corporation. The basic concept places the player in the role of an agronomist, whose activities are subject to corporate quotas, and success is measured by achieving certain performance indicators. Any action, from planting crops to problem-solving, is performed by playing cards at critical moments.

This mechanic requires a strategic approach to farming and the ability to cope with constant paressure from management. The main task is to use a growing collection of cards to meet the boss's strict demands. Gameplay in Rana Card revolves around a resource called a time limit, which limits actions each turn. Players draw cards from a bag, each with a time cost that consumes this limited supply. A crucial decision is how many cards to draw, balancing potential benefits with costs.

The situation is complicated by sudden time explosions dangerous events that require avoidance or exploitation. Successful use of cards earns gold, which is essential for further progress. Progression is ensured by building a more powerful deck as you progress. New decks can be unlocked and treasure chests discovered, expanding your strategic options. The path to success is non-linear, as the journey includes branching events that present difficult choices. The steps taken determine the route through harsh years and lead to massive, world-shaking cataclysms.
