Genokids hack and slash anime action game that lets players unleash a squad of genetically engineered superkids on hordes of corporate lab mutants in a dystopian cityscape overrun by bio experiments. The storyline follows Miko, a 12 year old prodigy with telekinetic claws, who escapes a black site facility alongside her ragtag team of lab escapees after a viral outbreak turns guards into raging beasts. As the kids flee through neon lit slums and derelict arcologies, they uncover a plot by the Genesis Corp to weaponize their DNA for global domination, forcing Miko to balance brutal combat with protecting her "siblings" from both external threats and their own unstable powers. What starts as a frantic breakout evolves into a revenge fueled rampage, with moral choices determining if the team embraces their monstrous potential or fights to remain human.

The game packs over 50 combo chains for each kid, from Miko's claw tornadoes to Jax's explosive fist rockets, all upgradable via a DNA tree that unlocks mutations like poison spit or wall crawling, scavenged from defeated foes or synthesized in hidden safehouses. Players can switch between characters mid fight to exploit weaknesses, like using Lena's ice shards to freeze groups for Kai's shatter kicks. The sprawling urban sprawl divides into five districts, the flooded undercity for aquatic ambushes, the towering skyline for vertical grapples, the industrial scrapyards for junk weapon scavenging, the corporate spires for stealth infiltrations, and the bio labs for puzzle boss arenas. Each district hides traps like electrified puddles or collapsing catwalks that trigger swarm events.

Gamers can extensively mod their squad, looting gene vials from elite enemies or hacking vending machines for cosmetic skins inspired by classic anime tropes, from cyberpunk trenchcoats to mecha exosuits. Before missions, tweak loadouts to fit the zone, swapping agility boosts for sewer swims or heavy armor for tower climbs. Districts vary in layout, enabling runs through rain slicked alleys with slide dodges, derelict train yards with rail grinding, or lab vents with zero gravity flips. Multiplayer supports up to 4 players in co op rampages, where teams chain ultimate attacks for screen clearing nukes, or versus arenas for kid vs kid deathmatches. This mode unlocks shared mutation pools and faster DNA progression through combo challenges.
