Luddite is a unique turn-based campaign game that seamlessly blends action, strategy, and indie elements with a fully integrated graphic novel. Set in the sprawling metropolis of Yurushi, players assume the role of a recently laid-off engineer who joins a resistance group called the Luddite. The game’s narrative is set in a dystopian future where AI-controlled machines have made millions of people unemployed, forcing them to settle in the slums of Saitama. Players use their engineering skills to hack and sabotage the machines in an effort to exact revenge on the megacorporations and help the displaced workers.

The gameplay combines classic roll and write mechanics with a new push-your-luck system in which players must wreak havoc on AI systems while evading countermeasures. Featuring stunning illustrations by Adam Beachy, Luddite features both single-player and multiplayer modes, as well as co-op and competitive options. The game’s campaign is replayable and supports unlimited players, ensuring high replayability. Designed by Joseph and Madeline Adams and supported by over 1,400 backers on Kickstarter, Luddite offers a thought-provoking exploration of technological unemployment and resistance in a visually striking package.
