Dead of Darkness is a 2D action-adventure survival horror game that immerses players in the chilling events of Velvet Island. The game begins in 1985, when Miles Wyndham, a private detective, embarks on a journey to uncover the truth behind the mysterious death of his daughter. His search leads him to the island, but he quickly realizes that things are far from normal. The strange behavior of the inhabitants is alarming, and soon the island turns into a dangerous place, testing Miles in the most unexpected ways. As the investigation intensifies, he finds himself in a fight for his life, trying to piece together the disturbing story that the island holds.

The gameplay challenges gamers with a limited amount of resources and inventory, forcing them to think ahead. Danger is never far away, and every decision matters. The hostile creatures that pursue the protagonist seem to multiply as the story progresses, increasing the pressure with each new encounter. Whether fighting or fleeing, Miles must use every tool at his disposal to survive. Dead of Darkness mechanics create a constant sense of tension, leaving little room for respite. As the player moves around the island, every step carries the weight of potential death. Mental stress plays a key role. Hallucinations distort reality, complicating the already difficult task of navigating the dark corners of the island. The closer Miles gets to solving the island’s mystery, the more his sanity unravels.
