Players will have to turn a modest hut into a vast alchemical enterprise, discovering recipes and creating over 35 different potions. The process involves turning simple plants into deadly poisons and other potent substances. Success depends on the competent application of knowledge and the strategic use of alchemical principles, rather than supernatural forces, allowing you to build your business from scratch. In Ways of Alchemy, every decision you make is significant and can lead to impressive wealth or attract the hostile attention of the Inquisition.
The path of the alchemist is a balance between scientific discovery and persecution, and any substance created can change fate. To collect rare components and achieve specific goals, the player can hire adventurers, sending them on 24 different quests across 5 regions. Recruited agents operate in a world that views the alchemist’s craft as both a valuable resource and a forbidden practice.
Progressing through this card game allows you to specialize in one of 15 subclasses, each offering a unique approach to the craft. Additionally, mastering the 5 fundamental pillars of reality Void, Mirror, Veil, Pain, and Song — unlocks advanced alchemical capabilities. These pillars represent key concepts that influence the creation and effects of potions and other items developed in the laboratory. Thus, the path from novice practitioner to master alchemist is determined by strategic decisions in the field of craft and the chosen specialization.
