TR-49 is a narrative puzzle game in which the process of deciphering a mysterious archive is the central element. Interaction occurs through a World War II era computing device, long hidden in a church basement. This device, the creation of engineers Cecil Calderley and Beatrice Douler, contains a vast repository of little known books, letters, and diaries. The main objective is to find a single stolen tome, known only by its title. The protagonist receives instructions from a mysterious voice coming from a speaker, transforming the game into an interactive audio drama that vividly responds to the investigator's actions.

Exploring this massive data repository, accumulated over 50 years, pursues the ambitious goal of cracking the code of reality itself. Successfully comparing disparate texts and establishing connections between them allows not only to uncover the secrets of the machine's creators but also to find an artifact capable of changing the world. The TR-49 project requires the player to pay attention to detail and build logical chains of thought based on the information received to discover hidden sources.
