The events unfold in West Germany in 1981. The story centers on eighteen-year-old Noah, concerned about his father Leonardo's strange passion for research related to Hitler. His father's disappearance after leaving for a secret auction forces Noah to search for him in a secluded fortress, where the events of Dark Auction begin.
