About The Game
Cthulhu The Cosmic Abyss is a dark Lovecraftian horror game based on the inevitable destruction of human sanity under the pressure of chthonic forces. The reality-bending mechanic forces the protagonist to constantly suffer from severe auditory illusions. Familiar architecture disintegrates into non-Euclidean corridors, and the basic color spectrum chaotically delaminates, completely depriving the player of spatial coordination. The monster itself lacks the classic features of a muscular giant: we are presented with an emaciated creature with asymmetrical proportions and numerous frightening orifices on its body. Surprisingly, gamers risk avoiding direct confrontation with this omnipresent nightmare until the very end.
Only rare locations, marked by a saving orange glow, serve as refuge amidst this spatial disintegration. Cthulhu The Cosmic Abyss takes place in 2053. Interpol occult detective Noah Williams travels to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean to the industrial platform Ocean-I. Aggressive industrial resource extraction has triggered the awakening of the dormant ancient metropolis of R'lyeh.
