Roadwarden v1.1.31 (upd.07.01.2024)

Roadwarden — RPG shouldn’t focus on combat, shouldn’t even contain it, and the intriguing text-based RPG Roadwarden is another example of this. In it you play as a kind of highway defender, protecting the roads from hostile creatures and the resurrected dead. It’s a fantasy world brought to life with pixel art, but mostly with convoluted storytelling and dialogue. There are quests, lots of possibilities, and easy survival elements.

The focus, however, is on the conversation system. Before starting a conversation, you can choose a position that affects the parameters of your conversation. Think of Dragon Age 2 serious, obnoxious, or sarcastic responses, but with a lot of variety and the ability to influence the rest of the conversation. At the end of the day, it makes more sense for someone to be nice or rude throughout the conversation rather than wobbling wildly between sets.
