Effigy The Descent is a game developed by a team of 10 students during a 4 month project in parallel with regular courses. You play as a lost explorer who has to go to a cursed cave in search of artifacts, your only chance for freedom. Descent into hell through a progressive trail of statues that will come for you when you are not looking at them. The statues are stopped by the light. Your lantern is your best tool at your disposal, you need to be careful when using it to get further in the cave.

There are two archetypes of statues in the cave that will try to plunge you into darkness forever: ordinary statues and their light version. They will gradually follow you, pushing you into ever-increasing paranoia. Your goal is represented through 6 artifacts that you will need to collect on your way out so you can escape. The difficulty of the cave is directly related to your progress, you must use all the chances on your side. In his surroundings, he shows traces of a forgotten, glorious and mysterious civilization.
