Sam and Max The Devils Playhouse features country-singing dog Sam and hyperactive rabbit Max who work together as partners, solving mysteries and fighting crime as freelance police. Now the anthropomorphic couple will face a series of new exciting adventures and puzzles, during which they will need to show their best skills. All chapters here are separate stories. With a simple click, you can access your entire inventory, items in the game world, or switch between the two main characters so they can solve puzzles and manipulate objects. From the moment players leave the menu screen of Sam and Max The Devils Playhouse, they find themselves in a bizarre space zoo and encounter a giant, power-hungry ape aboard his spaceship. Max must turn into a flower pot and attach a homing beacon to the monkey’s furry back to take him back to prison.

But you can’t just walk up to him and hang the object on his back — that would be too easy. Instead, you need to find a way to sneak up unnoticed. The game consists of five parts. In the first Penitentiary Zone the heroes will fight the aforementioned great ape, who is desperately trying to destroy the planet and take over the galaxy. Once his plans for world domination are thwarted, the game allows you to move on to the second part, The Tomb of Sammun Mak, where the partners discover the projector and watch the adventures of their great-grandfathers. Max then gets a lobotomy in the third part, They Stole Maxs Brain before many cloned Sams appear in the fourth Beyond Doll Alley. The conclusion — The City That Dare Not Sleep — shifts the focus back to the rabbit as he turns into a monster and wreaks havoc on New York.
