Sword of the Sea is an atmospheric adventure game from Giant Squid that combines surfing mechanics with an otherworldly quest to restore a lost ocean. You play as Wraith, a resurrected being exploring a world where the land flows in huge waves of sand and water, using an ancient sword called the Hoversword, which moves like a hybrid of a snowboard, skateboard, and surfboard.

The core gameplay revolves around high-speed movement across undulating environments, from sandy deserts to glacial mountains, where you can perform skateboarding-inspired tricks like flips, spins, and grabs while riding halfpipes and walls. The movement system emphasizes both thrilling action and meditative flow as you build momentum and catch air on the crests of giant waves.

Set in a deserted Necropolis, you must uncover the remnants of a lost civilization hidden within sunken tombs and skatepark-like ruins. As you progress, you’ll transform barren sand dunes into vibrant emerald waters, witnessing the return of magical sea life in spectacular shoals, though darker forces lurk beneath the surface.
