It Reaches is a first-person horror game, told through the lens of a police officer's body camera, where the action feels like a documentary recording of a disaster. The player assumes the role of an officer whose routine operation is interrupted inside an abandoned hospital. Shaky camera, image distortion, and limited visibility heighten the sense of vulnerability and presence.

Progress is built around examining the premises and searching for clues left behind within the complex. Underground levels conceal fragments of events that gradually piece together a coherent picture. Puzzles are integrated into the environment and require attentiveness, as any mistake can attract whatever lurks in the darkness.

Danger is ever-present and cannot be confronted directly. Limited resources force players to act cautiously, exploiting the environment, and avoiding direct confrontation. Escape becomes the sole goal, and the hospital's secret is revealed only to those who survive until the end of the recording.
