Some wars never made it into the movies. Red Tears Angola takes the late 1970s bush conflict and turns it into an open world first person shooter, built and published by Arun Haines, where survival depends less on firepower than on patience, cover, and knowing when not to shoot.

You are a fighter behind enemy lines in a hostile country that stays alive even when you are not moving. Patrols follow their own schedules, outposts change hands, and random events like hostage situations and cargo drops keep the map unpredictable. Instead of walking through a script, you read the land and pick your moment.

Every encounter offers a choice: stay silent or go loud. Stealth means using the dense foliage, hiding in shrubs, climbing trees for a better view, and ending targets with brutal takedowns before any alarm fires. Loud means Cold War era weapons, improvised gadgets, jamming and crafting, and fighting through odds that never feel fair. Both approaches work; neither ever feels safe.

The conquest layer gives the war its shape. Capturable outposts and smaller locations shift between factions dynamically, and assassination targets roam the map waiting to be found. An intel system with fog of war rewards scouting, and information becomes the most valuable resource in the bush.

The presentation commits to the setting with diegetic UI and healing animations that keep the camera inside the experience instead of on a menu. Difficulty is fully customizable, from damage output to AI behavior, so the war can be tuned to your nerve level. Watch your step in the tall grass: the snakes are not decoration.
