You wake from stasis, and the ship is wrong. Project: Nova is a VR puzzle adventure from Fringe Realities, which develops and publishes the game, set aboard the Nova Aurora. You enlisted as an Engineer to make sure the vessel completed its voyage, but years of training did not prepare you for what you find: you are the last Engineer onboard, and the ship is in disarray.

Your only colleague never slept. The ship AI walks you through the wreckage of the routine, and together you take stock of what survived. The relationship between the two of you carries the story, and the AI is as much a character as any voice in a spacesuit. Its guidance is the closest thing to company in a very large, very quiet machine.

The work is the gameplay. You find the faults the ship has suffered and repair them with your own hands, system by system, in full VR. Each fix is a puzzle, and each puzzle teaches you another piece of the Nova Aurora. The satisfaction comes from watching a broken vessel slowly remember how to be a ship.

The atmosphere is designed around two feelings: astrophobia and isolation. The project leans into the dread of deep space rather than away from it, and the silence outside the hull is part of the design. The vacuum listens. Nothing jumps out at you that the setting has not already earned. The tension is the point, and it is patient.

Getting the Nova Aurora back on its voyage is the long goal, and every repaired fault brings the departure closer. The game treats that goal like a promise worth keeping. Slow fixes add up to a launch. Project: Nova is a VR experience for players who like their puzzles physical, their science fiction lonely, and their victories mechanical.
