About The Game

HorrorVale belongs to the JRPG genre. The indie project uses 2D pixel-map style graphics. The role-playing game is made on the RPG Maker engine, but instead of anime drawing, it has its own author’s style. The camera has three angles. When exploring the world in real time, it is located on top and at an angle or side. And turn-based battles take place in the first person. Team members are displayed in battles on the screen only when performing actions. Instead of mana, fear points are used. Up to 3 creatures can take part in duels. There are 30 playable characters in total. They join the squad as the story progresses. In addition to battles in a video game, you need to chat with NPC, look for buckets of candy a local equivalent of currency, solve puzzles they are built on activating switches and upgrade anti-heroes.

Full Description

The project stands out for its Halloween setting. HorrorVale is the name of the city where the main events take place. It is inhabited by zombies, ghosts, ghouls and other monsters from classic horror films. One day, a dead dog named Scruffy disappears from a skeleton girl named Alice. On his way to school, he is kidnapped by a strange creature and escapes. After that, the heroine goes to the Valley of Horrors to save her pet. Along the way, she fights aggressive monsters that have invaded her settlement. The plot here is served with humor. There are parodies of horror cliches.

How to Install
