Overview

Time moves inexorably forward, and now December 1957 envelops Tokyo with its cold breath. Almost two years have passed since Toko Kuchiki, the mysterious girl who fell into the heart of detective Reiji Tokisaki, was kidnapped straight from her hospital room. Her disappearance has left a gaping hole in Reijis soul, and he still cannot shake thoughts of her, his obsession with unraveling the mystery of her true nature. But life does not stand still, and new tragedies break into the measured course of days. Reijis younger sister, Yukari, saves a man from suicide, but he soon becomes the victim of a terrifying curse that, it would seem, should have remained in the past. Reiji realizes that the roots of this evil go back to pre-war times, and he must break the vicious circle of obsession that continues to cripple the destinies of people. But can he cope with this task when his own mind is still captive to Touko?

At the same time, the cult, which had been silent for six years, returns from oblivion. Their plans are shrouded in mystery, but one thing is certain — they bring threat and chaos. Reiji will have to unravel their plans and prevent the impending disaster. However, in this game of gods and curses, people always remain the true puppeteers. Their hands guide the sharp blades, and their choices determine whether blood will be shed or justice will be served. Tokisaka will have to plunge into the darkest depths of the human soul, face the vices and passions that give rise to monsters. And, perhaps, there, at the very bottom of the abyss, he will find the answers he is looking for, and be freed from the ghosts of the past in order to meet the future.
