Evergarden is not one of those games that immediately throws tutorials, tips and arrows at you showing you where to go. You just open the game, see a small area of ​​land in front of you and gradually begin to understand what is happening here. And this, oddly enough, is one of the best things about it. There is no feeling that you are being led by the hand. There is a feeling that you yourself decide how everything should look.

The game was developed and published by GridForge Labs in 2026. This is a small studio, and Evergarden looks like a project that was made by people who really wanted to make just such a game, and not just fill the market with another product. It is felt in the details. In how the interface is arranged, in how easy it is to navigate the mechanics, in the fact that the game does not try to keep you in artificial ways.

By genre, it is a mixture of casual game and strategy. The strategic part is manifested in the decisions: what to plant, where to expand, how to distribute what you have. None of this turns into a puzzle, but it doesn't feel like a completely passive activity either. There's a moment when you realize you've done something wrong and need to rethink your approach a bit. It's a nice feeling, especially in a game where there are no penalties for mistakes. Evergarden is good for an evening after a hard day. Or for a lunch break. Or for any moment when you want to do something that doesn't require constant concentration but doesn't feel like an empty click. The game is slow and allows you to slow down too. If you don't expect a big story or a complex combat system from it, it will give you exactly what it was made for.
