DREADZONE features a quarantine zone set in the year 2030. The Zeno-29 virus has swept across the planet, turning people into mutants and leaving civilization in ruins. In response, governments have created isolated zones that function as wastelands to contain the infected. The player begins as an infected individual, stranded in a remote region with abandoned factories, dilapidated houses, and underground shelters. Their only goal is to continue living.

Survival requires constant activity. The main gameplay involves collecting resources, hunting animals, and exploring abandoned buildings. The crafting system allows you to create weapons, tools, and other items necessary for life in harsh conditions. Smelting ore and cooking are fundamental tasks for progression. In the world of DREADZONE, threats come from zombies, mutants, wildlife, and other survivors willing to do anything to save themselves.

The further path is a choice. You can focus on the basics of existence, giving priority to building a shelter and obtaining food. Another option is to join the surviving group of scientists working on creating a cure for the virus. Alternatively, this game allows you to accept the viral transformation, joining the hordes of mutants to start a direct conflict with government soldiers. The decisions made shape the experience of being in the zone.
