Space Scum is a brutal tactical RPG in which you lead a company of mercenaries through procedurally generated sci-fi worlds, making morally ambiguous choices with long-term consequences. Each playthrough offers a unique experience thanks to randomized planets, environments, enemies, and missions, though they all exist within the same dystopian universe. The turn-based combat system emphasizes permadeath - if a mercenary dies in combat, they are gone forever - making recruiting and managing a team crucial to survival. Combat revolves around various weapon specializations, from melee weapons and ballistic weapons to advanced laser rifles and energy shields, as well as tactical options like hacking and turret deployment.
