As Elias barricades his barn and rallies neighboring survivors, he discovers the meteors carry ancient artifacts that grant temporary powers, forcing him to balance resource scavenging with moral dilemmas like sacrificing livestock for ammo or allying with shady scavengers. What begins as a desperate stand against bug swarms escalates into a valley wide war, with Elias's choices determining if he purges the plague or succumbs to its corrupting influence.
