High On Life 2, expanding on its predecessor's concept, introduces new ways for the protagonist to interact with the environment. The core of the combat system remains high-intensity clashes with sentient alien weapons, which now feature full dialogue. A key innovation is the use of a skateboard, which serves not only as a means of speed but also as a puzzle-solving tool. The character's high mobility, including double jumps, dashes, and a grappling hook, provides superiority in vertical combat and while exploring three expansive hub locations.

The story begins when the carefree life of a successful bounty hunter is interrupted. A mysterious figure from the past places a bounty on his sister, Lizzie, who is kidnapped by a powerful pharmaceutical conglomerate. In High On Life 2, the protagonist must thwart the villains plans, wreaking havoc in the most vibrant corners of the galaxy. Confronting a sinister corporation will require the hero to sabotage several key locations.
