Remorses is a deeply unpleasant horror game, in a good way. The kind where you don't want to stand in one place for long, because the silence becomes more oppressive than the music. Rivervalley circa 1991 appears calm only from the outside. Enter the Westbrook mansion, and everything gradually begins to go wrong: strange sounds, shadows in the corners, a feeling of lack of air, and the constant thought that the house is trying to break you. The most terrifying thing here isn't the monsters, but the gradual loss of control. If you forget to open the windows and sit in closed spaces for too long, the game begins to change before your eyes.

Sounds become louder and dirtier, the darkness begins to behave strangely, and the mansion itself turns into a nightmarish labyrinth where it's difficult to trust your own senses. You have to carefully examine the rooms, search for ingredients for strange rituals, and carefully navigate the house without backing yourself into a corner. There are some areas you just want to rush through, but the game deliberately forces you to stop and delve deeper because the answers to Westbrook's witchcraft and past are hidden in the most disturbing parts of this house.
