Midnight at a ruined temple, blue ghostfire, and a sealed scroll that should never have been opened form the entrance to Forbidden Scrolls Midnight Whispers, an adult strategy card game from Ero Echo Studio. The project blends deckbuilding with a dark cultivation fantasy setting.

The player takes the role of a wandering cultivator in tattered Taoist robes who strays into the forbidden scroll and finds himself deep in the desolate Guo Bei Temple. Ancient whispers mix with ghostfire in the dark, and beautiful yet dangerous beings watch from the shadows.

At the center of the gameplay stands the deck. Cards come from four schools: Ghost, Demon, Immortal, and Fox. The player collects them, adjusts their values, transforms suits, and adds inscriptions, forging a build that fits his own style. No two decks need to look alike.

Techniques give the deck its voice. Moves with names like Double Knock of the Returning Lantern or Four Calamities Converge can be upgraded, and the right combinations trigger powerful chains and special effects that turn a difficult fight around.

The temple itself hides more than battles. As the cultivator explores its ruins, he encounters mysterious events, singularity rewards, and the yokai beauties who guard the place. Challenging them in card duels unlocks their stories and secrets. Every encounter adds another page to the forbidden scroll, and the full picture of the temple's history only comes together after many visits.

The project carries a mature rating. It includes explicit nudity and scenes between adult characters, with all depicted characters being eighteen or older. Some character backstories touch on dark themes such as scarring and restraint, presented as memories rather than events of the current timeline.
