Striving for Light Build 19202212 (upd.13.07.2025) - TENOKE

Striving for Light is a mix of action, roguelike and role-playing game. The 2D graphics in this indie project were drawn by hand. The camera is located above and at an angle. The title is made in a fantasy setting. The plot is extremely laconic. The hero is asked to save the villagers from evil. To do this, he needs to go down into the dungeon and clear it of monsters. If successful, the player is offered to go to a new dungeon. Then the cycle repeats. Locations are randomly generated. There are several biomes. They always change in the same order. Monsters gradually become stronger. Among them are bosses and mini-bosses.

As a reward for defeating the leaders, you are given a key to a chest with loot. Fights take place in real time. You can switch between melee and ranged weapons on the go. There is an opportunity to dodge enemy attacks by dashing. The indie title Striving for Light can be played by two people on one computer. One user can control their character via keyboard and mouse, and the second participant is allowed to use a gamepad. There is no online multiplayer, but there is an online leaderboard. With each new run, gamers receive unique skill branches. The skill trees themselves are endless. They dynamically expand depending on the builds invented by the players. The skills presented in them can be replaced with special fragments if desired. As they progress, users can unlock new weapons, abilities, maps. The indie game also has modifiers to complicate the sorties.
