Train Sim World 6 is a railroad simulator that challenges players to master the controls of powerful trains on three new routes in the US, UK, and Europe. The journey begins on the electrified NJ TRANSIT network, where they pilot a classic Arrow III electric train on the Morristown commuter line between Dover and New York City. In Britain, gamers will explore picturesque coastal landscapes and GWR Class 802 express trains, while in Germany, they will experience an extended route extending beyond Riesa all the way to Leipzig. This project emphasizes realism and overcoming unexpected difficulties that arise during journeys.

New mechanics significantly enhance gameplay, challenging players to react quickly to unexpected situations. Door malfunctions, windshield wiper failure, or even a complete engine stall can occur while the train is moving, requiring immediate intervention. Temporary speed restrictions add additional complexity, requiring players to adhere to in order to stay on schedule. Train Sim World 6 introduces a passenger announcement system on platforms and on trains, as well as a conductor mode that lets you switch from operating a locomotive to checking tickets and ensuring passenger safety.
