Pathogenic is a gripping 2D roguelike shooter with dual controller controls where you play as a parasitic cell waging war within a human host. Developed by Aberrant Labs, this action RPG challenges you to infect, adapt, and ultimately defeat the host's immune system by hunting down enemy cells and harvesting their organelles. You'll attach harvested parts, such as flagella, mitochondria, secretory organelles, and spikes, to your parasite to create devastating combos through powerful organelle synergy. In combat, you'll face a variety of enemies, including macrophages, T-cells, rival parasites like tapeworms, and fearsome bosses lurking deep within the body's organs.

The game features meta progression thanks to Plasmid Fragments, which permanently upgrade your parasite's unique skill tree between playthroughs, allowing you to hone different playstyles. You'll navigate procedurally generated biomes representing the lungs, heart, brain, and other bodily systems, each offering its own unique environments and challenges. The game's soft-body physics simulation imbues every cell, enemy, and projectile with an organic, realistic feel, heightening the immersion into microscopic carnage. Each playthrough combines meticulous design with procedural generation to provide a fresh gaming experience as you evolve from a simple cell to a complex killing machine.
