Nioh 3 Hell Rising v2.00.02 (upd.23.08.2026) - TENOKE

In 1651, during the Keian era, Edo was supposed to be at peace. Instead, the great castle town that once proved the shogunate's authority has become a hellish wasteland consumed by the Crucible. That is the setting of Nioh 3 Hell Rising, an expansion that throws the player into a battlefield of chaos and yokai.

The Crucible has transformed Edo into something unrecognizable. Yokai, human rebels, and alchemists from foreign lands have all descended on the city, and the result is a warzone where every street is a fight. The Crucible is not a place for the unprepared, and the expansion assumes the player has already mastered the base game's systems. The expansion builds on the base game's combat system, and the new content pushes the difficulty higher.

New weapon sets arrive with this expansion. The hoko and shield and the ninja hoko and shield offer fresh ways to approach combat, each with its own basic attacks and combos. Each weapon set has a distinct feel, and mastering one can change the entire flow of a fight. The player can mix these into existing builds or build around them entirely, and the variety keeps the combat feeling new even for veterans of the base game.

The tone stays true to the Nioh series: dark, historical, and soaked in supernatural horror. The yokai are as dangerous as ever, and the alchemists bring a new flavor of enemy to the roster. The expansion does not hold back, and the Crucible is exactly as punishing as its name suggests.

The expansion arrived as part of the v2.00.02 update, and it requires the base game. Nioh 3 Hell Rising is aimed at players who finished the base campaign and want more of its punishing, rewarding combat. The Crucible is open, the new weapons are ready, and Edo is not going to save itself.
