Roadside Research is a co-op gas station management simulator where the main goal is to covertly collect data on humanity. Posing as regular employees, a team of 1-4 aliens must conduct research without arousing the suspicion of customers. The process of studying people involves scanning, stealing personal belongings, and using various alien technologies on customers. Any careless action increases suspicion, inevitably leading to a visit from government agents and the failure of the mission. At night, there is an opportunity to analyze the collected information and plan further operations.

Customize masks to simulate human faces. The daily routine is entirely devoted to mimicking human activity to maintain camouflage. The alien scouts' responsibilities include restocking shelves, refueling vehicles, and accepting payments for goods and services. For a more immersive experience, Roadside Research offers the opportunity to custom-paint masks, creating unique human faces. Successful station management allows for the recruitment of more subjects for study, while upgrading the complex and improving the extraterrestrial equipment increases the efficiency of collecting valuable information about earthlings.
