In Aztecs The Last Sun, the player becomes the ruler of Tenochtitlan, a great state capable of conquering the entire world. The user is entrusted with many tasks, as the leader of his own power. He will have to develop the city, increase military power and improve the quality of life of the citizens. Taking control of the Aztecs will require going through three great centuries, dominating the surrounding territories and writing new pages in world history. The gameplay is presented in the form of a city planning simulator and management of the economic component. The ruler will need to provide his subjects with food so that they can engage in construction and military affairs.

According to history, this state stood out thanks to its architectural miracle, located in the middle of Lake Texcoco on an unnamed island. The landscape will act as a challenge, offering difficulties in technological and economic aspects. To prosper, the user should observe three different features of city management. Military affairs helps residents live in peace and repel rare attacks by small enemy detachments. The economic component is necessary to acquire the necessary resources, maintain a high standard of living and construction. Religious growth helps control subjects and improve their morale. The user is able to freely install buildings and develop original infrastructure.
