Xenopurge puts you in the role of a Commander, managing an elite squad from a remote command center. The primary objective is to eliminate the aliens through indirect orders via multiple monitor interfaces. You will plan routes for your soldiers, prioritize them, and determine tactics before they enter the combat zone. The survival of your team depends on this strategy and preparation, as you will have little direct way to influence events once the operation begins.
Within each run in Xenopurge, the player will be able to recruit new soldiers, each with their own initial tactical settings. You will also equip your team with advanced equipment, molding the unit to your leadership style. Missions take place on procedurally generated maps with different room layouts and enemy encounters, ensuring that each run is unique. Each game session is designed to be completed in approximately 60 minutes and focuses on solving complex, tactically challenging puzzles.
Failure will result in the permanent death of your squad members within the current mission. Whether the mission ends in success or total loss, your team profile gains experience, unlocking new abilities and recruitment options for future operations. Your units operate in a grim retro-futuristic setting, tracking targets in confined corridors and facility rooms. The key challenge of this project is the need to act proactively, rather than react to threats in real time.
